Who makes this site?

ResearchTools is an independent project from Biotech Insight Solutions. We aim to make routine scientific calculations faster and easier to check.

How is data handled?

Calculations, entered values, and selected images are processed in your browser, not uploaded to our servers. The site does not require an account or store your calculator inputs in a database. Cloudflare Web Analytics may also be enabled to measure aggregate visits and performance. Optional Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is loaded only after you choose Accept analytics. If you consent, Google may collect visit and interaction information and set analytics cookies; the site does not send values entered into calculators or uploaded scientific datasets as custom analytics events. If you reject, the GA4 script is not loaded. You may change this choice at any time using the Analytics preferences control in the footer. Your choice is saved locally in your browser. For more details, see Google’s Privacy Policy. The hosting provider may process ordinary technical request information (such as IP address and request metadata) needed to serve the website.

Can I use the results in research?

Each calculator provides an optional software citation and BibTeX/RIS export, with version information and an access date in exported metadata. Version 1.6.3 source code and tests are available as a downloadable archive with a SHA-256 checksum, but this hosting arrangement alone is not an immutable archival repository. No DOI has yet been assigned to ResearchTools. Cite primary statistical methods as appropriate. The tools are educational aids, not validated clinical software. Review each tool’s formulas, assumptions and limitations. Independently verify any result used in experiments, publications or regulated decisions. The site offers no guarantee of fitness for a particular purpose.
