Calculate the concentrations and mixing volumes for a constant-factor serial dilution series, with a step-by-step preparation table.
How it works
Method: At each step, concentration Cₙ = C₀/Fⁿ, where F is the dilution factor. To prepare V µL at each step: transfer V/F µL from the previous dilution and add V × (1 − 1/F) µL diluent.
Example: For a 2-fold dilution series starting at 10 mM, concentrations at steps 1–3 are 5, 2.5 and 1.25 mM. To prepare 200 µL at each step, mix 100 µL from the previous tube with 100 µL diluent.
